Today is kind of a special day for me. One year ago today I was admitted to Duke Hospital and after a number of tests and scans I was diagnosed with an Aortic Dissection and rushed in for emergency open heart surgery. I was actually given less than a 10% chance of living through surgery and the surgeon told my family there was no guarantee I would even make it to the Operating room now that they knew what they were dealing with. Well 10 hours later I had beaten the odds and survived.I know live with a mechanical aortic heart valve and have a number of restrictions that I have to live with, but atleast I get to live. To the friends I have made in this league playing at The Tavern and West End and a few more that are no longer part of this league I really cherrish your friendship and the time spent playing poker with you guys. I dont get out to play much anymore as other things have taken up the majority of my time, like spending more time with the kids. So everyone enjoy playing poker with each other and enjoy the friendships you make, because we never know what tomorrow holds or even if there will be a tomorrow. Thanks again,
